We do too!
So, if you help us we'll help you win a prize too. Let's explain...Remember last year how we were reallytrying to feed our addiction to books hankering to win a kindle in the missionary blog contest? Well, some dude from Togo, Africa won it.
This year, Missionary-Blogs is hosting the contest again and we thinks that the prize needs to go to some folks in Paraguay (wink, wink).
Here's why we think we should win the kindle:
1. shipping books to Paraguay is super expensive and takes months.
2. we don't have any more room on the bookshelves
3. we want to help save the planet and trees
4. we want to actually have a gadget that came out later than the 90s. (yes we still use a VCR and analog tv)
Here’s what you need to do to help us win:

Good evening. I have recently begun following your blog once I knew you had one. I don't know a lot about you but I do know someone who does. To introduce myself I am Lisa Timmer. My husband and I are from Boonsboro Maryland and know that a few of our fellow church members at Boonsboro Bible church have been down there. They are members of CMA and we too support Run for the Son annually. I also follow a lot of quilting blogs because I like to make them and see what others are making. One of the blogs I follow is in Melbourne, Australia called Red Pepper Quilts http://www.redpepperquilts.com/p/about.html It's amazing how close we are all via the Internet isnt it? I wish you well with your contest!
ReplyDeleteAs always, your blog continues to educate on the needs and challenges that Paraguay presents. As someone who is soon to travel/live there, it is an invaluable tool to help educate us about our future home. Sort of like "the next best thing to being there". Thanks for sharing your trials, tribulations and successes!

Julie and Norbert -- we want you have a Kindle! I am almost ready to break down and buy one for myself (if anyone knows how to contact my husband, you might remind him that my birthday is coming up!) Anyway, back to you and yours -- one of the best things about ebooks is that you don't have to carry enough weight in your carry on to down the plane! I am sure 50# of books for the 36 hour flight to Paraguay is the source of all sorts of problems.
ReplyDeleteWhen we moved here, we only came with the stuff we could fit in suitcases. Everyone was allotted a suitcase for clothes, and a suitcase for books. So as a family who understands the need to have good reading material, we are sincerely hoping you win the Kindle. Unfortunately, it looks like I can't vote for you since we live in the same country. Poo. Hoping it comes your way though!
ReplyDeleteI too live in the same country so it looks like I can't help you win a Kindle. But I am excited to see how far you've gotten in funds for the school since the last time I visited your blog!
ReplyDeleteI forgot to post in time, sorry sis!
